Meet Sara Intonato
Hi, I’m Sara Intonato.
Founder of Autism Changemakers.
Parent coach. Consultant. Bestselling Author.
And most importantly, mother to a brilliant nonspeaking son who changed the course of my life.
When my son lost his speech at 15 months, I was thrown into a world I never expected—IEP battles, therapy schedules, endless waiting rooms, and an ache that no one seemed to understand. It wasn’t just the grief of losing words—it was the grief of being isolated, dismissed, and constantly made to feel like I had to prove my child’s worth.
That experience cracked me open. And from that place, I built something new.
Today, I support other parents of nonspeaking autistic children—through my private membership, Autism Changemakers, and through 1:1 consulting for those who want more personalized support.
Whether you're navigating school systems, exploring AAC, struggling with burnout, or simply need to be reminded that your child is not broken and neither are you—I'm here.
This isn’t about fixing our kids.
It’s about honoring them.
It’s about remembering your own strength in the process.
If you're looking for a space to be seen, supported, and equipped with tools that actually help—you’ve found it. Whether in community or 1:1, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
You don’t have to do this alone anymore. You were never meant to.
Sara and her family are the subject of Rocco Up, a 22 minute documentary film that’s currently the buzz of film festivals around the world. Her first book, a spiritual guidebook for parents of children with autism and other neurodiversities, is being published this winter.
A seeker at heart, she finds solace in her daily spiritual practices, including her yoga practice of 20+ years. She has been married for 15 years, has two beautiful children (11 and 12). She loves spending time in nature and feels honored to call Montauk, New York, her home. She is committed to her growth and evolution which she then brings back to her work.
Her deeper purpose is to end suffering amongst parents of children with autism by giving them the tools to heal themselves, which in turn empowers them to be bold advocates for their children. By gaining the confidence needed to do so, these parents stop being the victims of a broken system wrought with stereotypes and instead succeed in providing their unique children with exactly what they need to thrive and share their own gifts with the world. One by one, these families now change the world THROUGH autism instead of being victimized by it.
